All true, so maybe the DVD isn’t extremely magic, but “I Am Extremely Magic” is one of the seven “Charlie and Lola” stories featured on this DVD. And after watching all of these episodes, you and/or your kids might feel that the expose is extremely magic too.

The title episode for this DVD is “How Many More Minutes Until Christmas? ” It’s a double-length fable in which Charlie & Lola receive an Advent calendar for Christmas. They excitedly count down the days until Christmas, but are shy when it appears that Christmas has disappeared from their calendar. There’s a lot of spacious moments and amusing dialogue in this one and it conveys the magic of the holidays quite nicely. Oh, and the theme music in this episode has a holiday sound to it.
My accepted and my best fable on this DVD though is “I Completely Know About Guinea Pigs” as I possess a guinea pig myself. The guinea pig in this account is very cute and there’s a comical surprise ending.

Other stories on this DVD are “Charlie is Broken!,” “I Ogle with My Tiny Eyes,” “I Am Really, Really, Really Concentrating” and “I Really Wonder What Plant I’m Growing.” The DVD also includes subtitles, as well as two bonus outtakes and the sweet “It’s Snowing” video montage.
From all of the Charlie and Lola dvd’s, this is our approved. They are all really great though but we like this one because it has a Christmas episode in there. The Charlie and Lola cartoons, are so thoughtful and stylish and thinking outside the typical cartoon you perceive on tv these days. The artwork, the music, and the characaters are so safe and advantageous towards one another and unbiased a nice cartoon you want your kids to search for instead of the violence and weirdness you gape. I really like the relationship the brother-sister duo has. Imaginative and unprejudiced cozy. This is a winner in our library.

Warner Bros. are finally releasing South Park’s first season on DVD. **ALL** of the episodes from season one are on here, and it has some really capable ones. This is going to be colossal! With such episodes as ‘Cartman Gets An Anal Probe’ and ‘Mr. Hankey The Christmas Poo’, you would be crazy not to accumulate it.

Let me begin out by saying that if this first season of South Park weren’t so substantial, I would have given this location 0 or 1 star.
The 2 main drawbacks to this DVD are: 1) the episode listings by disc that are included on the flaps are not even terminate to the sequencing that actually exists on the discs, with some episodes appearing out of order and in 2 cases not even on the same disc as noted; and 2) no chapter-within-eipsode system exists, which is made painfully certain after sitting through the howlingly unfunny “Fireside Chat with Matt (Stone) and Trey (Parker) ” that prefaces each demonstrate. And although the video is quite grand (due to the fact that there is only about 95 minutes of video on each disc) the sound is far less valid, filled with many audio “pops” and syncronization issues that were not resolved by swapping out my place for another.
In short, I would like to say that although it is immense to behold South Park finally advance to the DVD format that allows us to indulge in the animation more, Warner Bros fell far short of even my most meager expectations for what a DVD should be. I am tickled I received this as a gift otherwise I might try to track down the Warner’s CEO for my forty bucks aid, and until they accurate their glaring technological and quality-control issues they will not glimpse another dime from me on future South Park releases.

I am really surprised that it took so long for “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” to appear on DVD. The allotment is an astounding immersion in nostalgia, which can be appreciated by all ages…by everyone who remembers what it’s like to be a child at Christmastime.

The casting is perfection, the settings spot-on, and Dylan Thomas’ work comes alive vividly before your eyes.
So well does this film conjure the luscious smells coming from the Christmas-Day kitchen, when all the women are busy preparing the meal, that one’s mouth waters. We can’t assist but laugh at the uncles, who having stuffed themselves to capacity, loosen their belts and asleep in that blooming sleeping time post-revelry. And then there is that astounding moment, at the destroy of the day, when Christmas carols are sung and a weary child is tucked into bed, head calm paunchy of Christmas pleasures…

“A Child’s Christmas in Wales” is a warm and poignant treat for the senses and for the heart. I give it five stars enthusiastically, and view forward to our annual viewing. It has become a family tradition.
This is a palatable anecdote of a young boy in Wales. It commences with the grandfather and his grandson at the home of the child’s parents on a Christmas Eve.(The narrator and grandfather played by Denhom Elliott) The child is given a magnificent snowglobe by his grandfather as a Christmas gift. The grandfather had received the snowglobe many, many years earlier when he was a boy and the child asks “grunt me about your life when you were young, Grandad” — so the account begins of Christmas’s long gone by in Wales, Gt. Britain. The account is simple, Dylan Thomas’ words are radiant, and this is a video that can be watched every holiday season by all the family. I relieve everyone with young children to gape it. Life was considerable simpler in those days. Hopefully it will never go out of print.

There are over a hundred reviews for The Aristocats as of this date. They all refer to the previous edition (Disney Gold Classic Edition or whatever they called it years ago when it first came out on dvd) .
So now we will have those reviews mixed up with recent reviews for the Feb 5, 2008 version which offers more extras and a different aspect ratio. This may execute things a bit confusing.

People compare this film to 101 Dalmations. This is Disney’s “cat” movie, they say. You can’t compare them; they’re too similiar somehow.
But they are both decent, cute family films.

Yes, Cruella is scary compared to the bumbling butler Edgar. There is a sense of jeopardy but Dalmations is grand stronger in that sense.
Both films were made using the 1960′s Xerox plan where the resulting animation is more sketchy looking and more halt to the modern animator’s drawings.
The Aristocats is more of a musical, definitely. A few forgettable songs, but also the charming and infectious tune “Everybody Wants to Be a Cat”. That is the tune I contemplate of when I remember the adventures of Duchess and Thomas and the kittens. (101 Dalmations had the slight “Cruella De VIl” song, but that’s it.)
Overall this is a fun vehicle but it is not a classic such as Peter Pan, Cinderella, or Lady and the Tramp. It has a nice, relaxing scramble and is probably most tantalizing to youngsters. The articulate talent, as ever with Disney cartoon features, is gigantic. Eva Gabor’s Duchess is warm and maternal while Phil Harris as Thomas O’Malley is macho yet sweet (and sounds like a lifelong diehard smoker) . He also lent his vocal prowess to The Jungle Book when he played Baloo the hold.
This special edition for 2008 has some cute extras. But unless you’re a total stickler for aspect ratios or you accumulate every version they release, the previous edition should suffice. It was shapely, with a certain and quick-witted picture/sound presentation.
I’m so tickled that Disney made this film. I worthy steal the more innocent Disney movies of the past. Movies like Lady and the Tramp and The Aristocats are truly fun, wholesome entertainment. Don’t find me started on the recent Disney films which are map too keen in pushing hit pop songs and attracting adults with more action, violence, and suggestive dialogue. I know things can’t quit the same so I’m gratified we have this film from a more innocent era. I particularly like the fact that the pacing is relaxed and the villain is not very scary. I’m always looking for what I call “serene” movies and videos for my 2 and a half year outmoded. I don’t want him seeing grisly or fast-paced images. Lady and the Tramp and Emmet Otter’s Jug Band Christmas are other huge shows for young viewers. Unlike the sterile environment of the Teletubbies, these movies are corpulent of unbelievable images and lively music. I accumulate the backdrop drawings extremely absorbing and stylized. I also like the setting of the film (France) as opposed to the mainly exotic locations lately of Disney films.

I was in my early teens, maybe 12 0r 13 when i had first seen “Rituals” on TV. It was a boring saturday afternoon, and my mother and i were home together, she was studying for her Masters degree and i was turning the knob on our extinct color television and stopped at channel 9 WORTV in NYC. A double feature was about to inaugurate…..”Tourist Trap” and “Rituals.” Tourist Trap was first and i thoroughly enjoyed it, but i wont talk about that early 80′s classic now, the next movie was Rituals starring Hal Holbrook, and I had never seen this one before.
The tale unfolds……a bunch of doctors head to the Canadian wilderness to camp out and delight in the nature…….but suspense and anxiety ensue. I haven’t seen this movie in years so i cant go in depth about it, but there are some obvious memories that i have. I bewitch piquant characters that we got to know from some very marvelous acting. The clearest memories i have of the film are the spacious and creepy wilderness and valleys adorned with veteran cement ruins of what i have heard was an feeble dam or structure of some sort. I remember Hal Holbrook’s character who tried to sustain his friends alive through the outlandish and creepy ordeal. The most lustrous images i have are towards the raze where the final confrontation unfolds……some of the doctors are murdered in very cruel fashion and it seemed quite possible that something like this could happen.

I wont show the reason why these doctors are being murdered……that fraction of the area unfolds beautifully. The killer is very mysterious almost supernatural at times….we dont watch him throughout the movie until the kill, except for a very haunting far off shot of him in the middle of the film. On TV this movie was edited and the lighting in the finale was so unlit it was a bit hard to discern what was unfolding clearly but you got enough to understand what was happening.
“Rituals”, i have heard, was given “dog of the week” by siskel and ebert, when it was released in theaters. This is such a mammoth, haunting film. It has a little bit of gore, but who needs that when the atmosphere of the film is so eerie and sorrowful. This,i command, is not a “knock off” of deliverance”, except in the fact that a group of men are being stalked in the wilderness. This is a panic film, no not some hollywood cheesy slasher flick that has puny if any purpose. “Rituals” is a classic film that pulls you in….and keeps you wondering “why? ” until the very kill.
I have heard that this CODE RED release has been re-mastered and brightened in the needed places of the film, and it is uncut…..the plump theatrical version. I havent watched this film in conclude to 30 years, and refused to inspect a faulty VHS copy or even a dvd version that comes from the VHS version…both whom i have heard near from the TV edit.
“Rituals” is such a special fim. It is quite scary and psychological, and has some intense moments, some with violence(tastefully done by the method) and some without. Stephen King talks about this as one of his top fear films…..and it is on my top 10. I have waited impatiently for this to advance a suitable dvd transfer and finally as i said christmas for me starts early this year…..November 17th!!

Wouldn’t it be immense to have Christmas everyday? That’s what Elmo view, when he ancient the one of his three magic wishes, granted by Santa Claus after Elmo helped him secure unstuck from the chimney. When Santa realizes what Elmo has done, he and Lightning, a cute shrimp reindeer, buy Elmo through time to prove him what life would be like if it were Christmas everyday.
They go in the future, where the Count counts 193 days of Christmas on Sesame Street. Elmo sees that Substantial Bird is missing Snuffy, who went to visit his Granny in Cincinnati. Sizable Bird is dismal, because he can’t stare Snuffy or mail him a letter (because there is no mail on Christmas) . The children are also not learning because there isn’t school. Then Elmo visits Maria, who is uncomfortable about buying presents everyday and not working. Then Elmo realizes that maybe it shouldn’t be Christmas everyday.
The video soundtrack is really catchy! The songs include: It’s Christmas Again, Every Day Can’t Be Christmas, Give Your Friend An Easter Egg For Christmas, All I Want For Christmas Is You, Preserve Christmas With You All Through The Year.

One thing that I disliked about this tape is that it is a bit long (most Sesame Street videos are 30 cramped tapes, and this is an hour), so I mediate some of the video could have been edited out. (I usually hasty forward through the fraction with the Easter Bunny, because my one year conventional daughter gets a limited restless during this fragment) . However, I consider that this is a broad video for the holidays. My one-year-old loves it!
I have a major Elmo fan in my home. My child is only 15 months traditional but loves the music and Sesame Street sights and sounds. In this video many of the songs tell throughout the storyline, my child is able to accomplish a connection and finish focused for the duration of the sage. Since I have to study this many, many times, I have to admit it is well written, fun, and a joy to peruse. Plus they included one of my common writers and storytellers Maya Angelou…Hooray for Sesame Street!

On November 21st, 2006, 20th Century Fox released Home Alone – Family Fun Edition. This DVD edition is the long awaited special edition to one of cinemas most adored Christmas films. This edition offers a hefty amount of extra goodies…such as over 30 minutes of deleted scenes, on the site featurettes, original interviews, and a ticket current commentary track featuring director Chris Columbus & Macaulay Culkin. I have to say unlike most commentary tracks, this one is actully very informative and very fun. Macaulay and Chris seem to have so powerful fun watching the film. This edition like the first one is presented in its recent theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. I read somewhere that the video and audio is updated too, I cannot confirm if it is or not but I read that. If you absorb the previous edition of this film, it is definately worth your money to update to this. The special features alone warrant a double dip. Also for the own outs not wanting to take the film til it got a special edition, well here it is. I would recommend this edition to anyone wanting to contain this classic film on DVD.
Finally Fox studios came to their senses to re-release a childhood classic. Now this re-release does have a substanial amount of bonus features including 4 late the scenes feature, deleted scenes, 3 trailers, and some trivia games but the icing on the cake is the Christopher Columbus and Macaulay Culkin Commentary. Its kindly to know that Macaulay Culkin being the highest paid child star succor then in the early 90′s and serene to this date, he is humble enough to go assist to his childhood memories. Deff worth the upgrade if you have the previous release..a fair classic…

This location represents the first of an expected 12 (more? ) seasons of the Simpsons to be released on DVD. The modern concept is to release 2-3 seasons a year. The second season will be released in time for Christmas.
Since the first season was shorter, this first disc has many extras. First, all of the shorts from the Tracy Ullman expose will be there. Also, there will be a “lost” episode included.
Fox must be commended in releasing these discs. When they were preparing to release the discs, they went to the fans, and asked how we would like them released. As season packs? How many extras? How often? Rarely does a publisher care that considerable.

Oh my God. When I found out about the Simpsons Season 1 Dvd’s I fell of my bed. I’m so cheerful, because the Simpsons is the best indicate in the world, anyway I believe the 1st season is the 3rd best. The first two being 3 and 11. Okay, so the episodes are… 1.
