You will need to have a gun cleaning kit which should have everything you need. You might also opt for an ultrasonic cleaner which is certainly the simplest way to clean your gun and is very effective too. The down side is that you have to pay for this type of convenience. However, it is so easy to use, as you mostly need only soak the gun parts in the solution with little if any actual cleaning, just rubbing and oiling afterwards.

Gun safety is always a top priority and this is true during cleaning, too. You must always make sure your gun is not loaded before you begin any cleaning. As a gun owner you should know this very well! It is absolutely essential. Next carefully follow instructions on how to do the cleaning. Take careful note of all details. For example, in pistol cleaning you do not need to take the gun apart, but for other guns you do. Make sure you know what you are doing before you start.

Maintaining your gun properly is one of the keys to gun safety and proper storage and use. Whether you choose the simplicity of having your guns cleaned professionally or you decide to carefully do it yourself, you will increase your guns’ life and effectiveness by regular gun cleaning.
